On Thursday, June 18, the Young Epigenetics Scientists (Y.E.S.) Club and our Graduate School G.E.N.E. hosted two professionals who successfully transitioned from academia to startups: Kim Brunel, Founder and CEO in residence at Biossible, and Salomé Guez, Research Associate at Kyron.bio.
In front of an audience of PhD candidates and Master’s students, our two speakers reflected on their career paths: the doubts, decisive turning points, challenges encountered, and the lessons they drew from them.
A clear message emerged from their testimonies: it is essential to build a network and to start early! Whether you are considering a career after a PhD or looking to explore paths outside academia, this event is a reminder of how many opportunities are available.
Many thanks to Kim Brunel and Salomé Guez for generously sharing their experience!
