Partners organizations of the EUR GENE

The  Graduate School Genetics and Epigenetics New Education (Ecole Universitaire de Recherche Génétique et Epigénétique Nouvelle Ecole - EUR GENE) is funded by the French National Agency for Research (ANR) under the third Investments for the Future program (PIA3).

It is co-sponsored by five Parisian higher education and research institutions:


  • USPC

The Sorbonne Paris Cité University (USPC), regroups eight universities, institutes and grandes écoles and five world-renowned research organizations.
As France's leading university group in the field of cultural areas, languages ​​and civilizations, health and life sciences, the USPC is at the forefront of the humanities and social sciences, mathematics and earth sciences and the universe.
The USPC represents 40% of the scientific forces of the Île-de-France region, with 250 research units positioned at the highest level worldwide.

The USPC is the coordinating institution of EUR GENE.

  • Paris Diderot University

Open to the city and the world, Paris Diderot is a multidisciplinary research university. Crossroads of knowledge, in tune with the great debates that animate contemporary society, it is a place that stimulates exchanges and innovations.
The European label HRS4R obtained in 2017 provides research professors, researchers and doctoral students with guarantees on recruitment procedures, employment conditions and mobility with the requirement of transparency, equity, mobility and parity.

The coordination of EUR GENE has been delegated to Paris Diderot University.

  • Paris Descartes University 

Originally built in 1970 as a gathering of faculties, Paris Descartes was built around the disciplines of health and human and social sciences, then joined by law and management. The exact sciences have always been historically present, especially in relation to health disciplines.
Paris Descartes is today a university that is at the same time largely multi-disciplinary, without being omnidisciplinary. It covers all disciplines, outside the sector "Arts, letters and languages".

  • CNRS

The French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) is a multidisciplinary public research organization under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
Created in 1939, it now has 33,000 research staff and 1,144 research laboratories in France and abroad, representing a budget of 3.3 billion euros.

Established in 1964, Inserm is a public institution of scientific and technological nature, under the dual supervision of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Research. Dedicated to biological research, medical and human health, it is positioned on the entire path from the research laboratory to the patient's bed. On the international scene, it is the partner of the largest institutions engaged in the scientific challenges and progress of these fields.
It regroups 7806 people and 281 research units, with a budget of 908 million euros.
