Professional Afterwork by the G.E.N.E. Mentors
The professional afterworks give the opportunity to young researchers (but not only !) to discover the career of former PhD students who decided to work outside the academic research field. The invited speakers present their backgrounds and their current occupation, in a friendly format that allows you to ask all the questions you want and discuss career options.
The second Afterwork of 2021 will take place on
February 8th, at 5:30 PM
Our invited speaker is Lucía Bruzzone. Lucía did her PhD in cell biology at the Institut Jacques Monod. She now works as an application specialist at Swiss biotechnology company Tecan, which specializes in laboratory automation. Her main activities include developing applications for cell culture & cell-based assays on Tecan liquid handling platforms, as well as providing technical and scientific support to multiple stakeholders such as customers, partners, sales representatives and field application specialists. She believes it is a great idea to promote networking among researchers as well as creating a platform to discuss the different career options beyond academia. As such, she will be very happy to tell you all about her current work as well as personal experience as a new PhD looking for a job outside the academic field.
